I am Gary Rogers. I have been a science fiction fan since my teens. My father was a US Army officer and so we moved quite a bit while I was growing up. I have traveled and/or lived in almost all of the United states.
I graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in Management. After managing restaurants for a while I went back to school to get into the Information Technology field where I was a programmer, systems analyst and project manager and senior manager for many years. I was an IT professional in the private and public sectors in the U.S. Defense and Cyber security arenas. and a college professor of Information Technology and Management in the academic sector. During this process, I went back to school and earned a Master's degree in Information Technology as well as a Ph.D.
Now I live in rural Georgia where I share the road, mostly dirt, with farming harvesters, combines and other notorious heavy vehicles. Want to know how to drive off the road in order to avoid becoming mashed potatoes from a harvester? Call me, I know. :-)
I write books full-time, well, mostly. I also teach classes occasionally in the University of Georgia system.
I have one book published in the Lost Ship series with seven more in various stages of the writing process. For example, the next four are already written and in the hands of the editors and several more in the planning stages.
I also plan two additional series, one in a dystopian universe and the other pure interstellar science fiction involving romance, action sequences, both on-ground and in space, science and tons of futuristic technology and lots of stab-in-the-back political intrigue.
